some reviews of the new album;
...The
tempo that caracterizes bands as " Hoven Droven" is there, so is the melancholy
that made big parts of the German heavymetalaudience to dig "Garmarna"...
... I´m still not sure if it ever have sounded so heavy and so genuine as
on the first tracks on Grejhojta!
The bassplayer, Mårten Korkmans´ instrument wraps up the album in melancholy,
and the singer, Frida K Eriksson, delivers the macabre lyrics with an obviousness
that give you the creeps....
Andreas Jakobsson, Ergo 4/10 -06
... Skrömta from Stockholm, free in their minds, grind away as bright and
entusiastic rockers! The group feast, laugh and swing over the stage with
dancing shoes on their feet!
Lars Åbom, Östgötakorrespondenten 25/10 -06
... the traditional establishes a natural unity instead of two parallel trails.
If I add that Skrömta have the intensity of "Väsen" and the energy of "Harv",
everyone with folkmusical interests knows that Grejhojta! is an impressive
debut and a heck of a good album!
... usually the length of a folkmusic album makes me lose my interest halfway,
but Skrömta varies themselves and retains the listener. From beautiful "Hosa
Helva" and "Tidelida" via the titletrack and "Lekatten" (which gotta be great
live!) to the absolutely amazing "Mor Segre".
Lars Alkner, Värnamo Nyheter 10/10 -06
...An
album with lots of music and lyrics connected to the north of Sweden. A group
whos joyful playing and entusiasm infects the listener. The new album with
folkmusic in different stiles is grejhojta! (a dialectal expression which
means very, very good!).
